11.October.2009, all Armenians were celebrating the 2791th birthday of our favourite capital city, Yerevan.
It was a fantastic show! From early morning the city was full of people, happines, balloons, flags, smiles and songs. Information support centers were opened before the commencement of festival events, where citizens of Yerevan and guests of the capital received information about organized events. After preparatory arrangements a grand parade started headed by Gagik Beglaryan, the mayor of Yerevan.
A show dedicated to foundation of the city was performed headed by the king Argishti. Argishti was the king of Armenia, reigning from 785 BC to 763 BC. He founded the citadel of Erebuni in 782 BC, which later renamed Yerevan. Now Yerevan is the capital of Armenia and one of the world's oldest continuously-inhabited cities (older than Rome). The performance took place near the fortress Erebuni (which was built by Argishti).
Than the royal procession with king Argishti I and 3000 soldiers made its way down to the Republic Square where the Gala Concert took place.
