It was a fantastic show! From early morning the city was full of people, happines, balloons, flags, smiles and songs. Information support centers were opened before the commencement of festival events, where citizens of Yerevan and guests of the capital received information about organized events. After preparatory arrangements a grand parade started headed by Gagik Beglaryan, the mayor of Yerevan.
After it Mashtots Avenue turned into an athletic arena, where a running race was conducted with the length corresponding to the symbolical for that day number -2791. A competition in windsurfing was organized on Swan's Lake:
The Northern Avenue turned into a "Masters' city". In workshops arranged outdoors craftsmen were creating sculptures from clay, painters depicting the festive mood of the holiday in their paintings. Everybody were exhibiting hand made artworks like this wonderfull Armenian national rugs:
Parks of the small city center had turned into open concert halls. Young pupils of musical schools appeared on stage in the daytime and professional performers gave evening concerts. Girls were performing an Armenian national dance:
Concerts for children were performed at Youth park, dance groups appeared on stage in Mashtots Avenue.Theater fans participated in outdoors spectacular performances played in Moscow Public Garden. A concert for jazz lovers was held near the cafe "Aragast". Rock music established its supremacy in the area adjacent to "Moscow" cinema. On that day Saryan Park was provided to singer poets, and classical music was sounded in the park in front of the conservatoire after Komitas:In the area adjacent to the monument to Stepan Shahumyan, pop music stars performed, and the English Park was provided to disc jockeys from Yerevan and from abroad: they had promised to create a real dancing atmosphere in the park.
A show dedicated to foundation of the city was performed headed by the king Argishti. Argishti was the king of Armenia, reigning from 785 BC to 763 BC. He founded the citadel of Erebuni in 782 BC, which later renamed Yerevan. Now Yerevan is the capital of Armenia and one of the world's oldest continuously-inhabited cities (older than Rome). The performance took place near the fortress Erebuni (which was built by Argishti).
Than the royal procession with king Argishti and 3000 soldiers made its way down to the Republic Square where the Gala Concert took place.The guest of the Concert Adriano Chelentano sung a song in Armenian with Armenian singer Forsh.
The concert ended with a magical salute.
